The garden forms part of a plan to embellish
the Villa commissioned by the forbears of the present
owners in the first half of the nineteenth century. The
architect was almost certainly A. Fantastici, and the
project was completed with the building of the "Limonaia"
in 1853.
On a guided tour with Frances you may admire details such
as the elegant "bird-cage" in the form of a
small temple. Beyond the yew hedge remain other features
of the original design, the stone edged beddins, decorated
gothic niches and the fish-pond cistern.
Unusual sweet smelling plants and the handsome collection
of ornamental lemon pots make this a memorable visit to
a truly "secret garden".
....also that special friend agreed: in our peaceful
garden he said:" This is the perfect place for my
vacation with my family"
....again, no loud voices, in this delightful
garden, quite noises could spoil this small piece of Heaven
